Welcome to Small Friends Veterinary Hospital

Vaccinations in the Media
In response to recent media reports regarding vaccination frequency in dogs and cats, we would like to reassure owners that Small Friends Veterinary Hospital tailors a vaccination schedule for each patient that visits the hospital as there is no “one size fits all” solution for vaccinations.
I am proud of the fact that Small Friends Veterinary Hospital was the first hospital in the ACT to introduce three-yearly vaccinations for dogs and we continue to encourage the judicious use of vaccinations, only vaccinating where necessary based on an individual patient’s circumstances.
Vaccinations are an essential part of preventative health care for dogs and cats and are proven to prevent many fatal diseases. They are especially important in the health of pups and kittens. Vaccinations given as necessary and annual health checks are the best way to safeguard the health of your small friend.

Your Vet: Dr Matt Almond BVSc MACVSc
Like all vets, when Dr Matt graduated he got the 'BVSc'. After years of large and small animal work Dr Matt realised he loved working with cats and dogs, so he went back to the books and completed an extra qualification in small animal medicine, giving him the 'MACVSc'.
