How did your owner decide they wanted a small friend and that you would be the right small friend for them?
Mummy and Daddy always wanted a small friend but had to wait until they bought their house so we could run around and play as we pleased. Mummy and Daddy met our uncle and thought he was such a good-tempered boy, pocket sized but all the fun, so they decided to stay with his family tree. They got me first but I was a little lonely by myself so they got me a little sister for company.
Where did your owner find you?
We came from Ticklepink Poodles right here in Canberra.
How did your owner choose your name?
Mummy and Daddy have some favourite TV shows. My name, Gus, is from a show called Psych – two best friends with a private detective agency. Daphne is from Frasier – the cheeky English lady who stole their hearts and is just a little bit strange, just like me.
What do you enjoy doing?
I love to play fetch. I can’t get enough of it!!! I can play fetch all day and all night. My favourite fetch toy is a blue spikey ball. While I love to chase the ball, Daphne loves to chase me. She will grab on to anything from my ear to my tail and chase me right back to Mum and Dad for another throw.
Do you have a favourite treat, spot or toy?
My favourite spot is top of the couch. I can see everything that goes on in the house from there. I’m little so I fit nicely on the top of the couch back. Daphne loves a good cuddle. She always cuddles up to Mummy whenever she is home. Sometimes I try to steal her spot on Mummy’s lap if I am feeling a little cheeky.
What do you think makes you so special to your owner?
They love it when we get them out of bed in the morning with a tonne of puppy kisses. We say good bye when they go to work but we make sure we are ready with loads of kisses and hugs when they come home from work. I think they love that we complete their little family of two. We are their little bubbas for life.
Are there any funny or interesting stories about you that you can share with us?
One time Daphne and I thought it would be really fun to rip into the couch cushions. We decided to take all the filling out and spread it around the house so it looked like it snowed inside. I don’t think Mummy and Daddy thought it was a fun snow day though.
