Everyone loves Max ❤️🐶⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Maximus came and spent the day with us recently. Three's a charm 🐱🐱🐱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Dr Mel was lucky enough to catch up with these three beauties, Lily, May and Sunny 😍when their mum Abbey brought them in for their annual health checks and vaccinations ✅⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some families like to bring all their small friends together 🐱🐶🐭🐰and others find it easier to bring one at a time. We don't mind - whatever is easiest for you and them. If you think your small friend would feel better sharing the experience with their buddy or perhaps your new kitten has never been left alone 🙀you can even bring their sibling in just for support 🐶❤️🐱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To make an appointment for one or all of your small friends please call ☎️on 6262 2233 - we look forward to seeing you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #smallfriendsvet #smallfriends #canberrapets #canberracats #canberradogs #dogsofcanberra #catsofcanberra #covid19canberra #dogsofinstagram #catsofinstagram #gungahlin #canberra #wearecbr #kitten #puppy #rspca_act ...

Sally can thank Susie for Nutmeg 🐱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This little cutie is Nutmeg. He visited Dr Mel when he was just 4 months old, with his mum Sally, for a check up. Nutmeg is a Scottish Fold. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Scottish Fold cats have drooping or folded ears 🙉The first Scottish Fold was born in 1961 in Perthshire, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 A kitten with folded ears was born amongst a litter of cats with regular ears. This kitten was named 'Susie' and to this day every Scottish Fold cat can trace their ancestry back to Susie ❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #smallfriendsvet #smallfriends #canberrapets #canberracats #canberradogs #dogsofcanberra #catsofcanberra #dogsofinstagram #catsofinstagram #gungahlin #rspca_act #canberra #wearecbr #kitten #puppy #covid19canberra ...

Can you believe we get ANY work done? 😍😆⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is Delphini 🐱who visited us to be desexed ✂️She is a delightful little kitten and was very smoochy 🥰⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our government rules stipulate that all cats 🐱and dogs 🐶must be desexed but did you know that desexing your small friend is beneficial for their general health 😺 and not just to avoid unwanted pregnancies? 🙀False pregnancies, infections of the womb and breast cancer are just some of the conditions that are avoided or reduced by desexing. For more information see our 🖥information page on desexing or call us ☎️on 6262 2233. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #smallfriendsvet #smallfriends #canberrapets #canberracats #canberradogs #dogsofcanberra #catsofcanberra #dogsofinstagram #catsofinstagram #gungahlin #rspca_act #canberra #wearecbr #kitten #puppy #covid19canberra ...

She was very smoochy and loved cuddles with the nurses 👩🏻‍⚕️so naturally all our nurses obliged 🥰⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did you know that the X chromosome 🧬carries the gene for orange OR black coat colours? So with two X chromosomes females can have black AND orange coats colours together 🖤🧡whereas males are usually either black OR orange. Poodle Party 🐶🎉🐶⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is Coco and Coby when they came to visit us almost 12 months ago 🗓for their annual health checks. They are the cutest little things ❤️ Coco and Coby have been fit as fiddles since we last saw them 👏🏻and so we are looking forward to seeing them soon for their annual health check. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did you know that your annual visit isn't just about getting annual vaccinations? 🤷🏽‍♀️Their health check is so important to your small friend's general health 🤩 Small friends can't tell us specifically how they are feeling, so by owners discussing their small friend's behaviour with one of our vets 👩🏻‍⚕️👨🏻‍⚕️👩🏼‍⚕️ and having a full health check ✅we can get a good idea of their health. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We have an information page on Health Checks on our website (link in bio). It goes through some things you might like to discuss with out vets at your appointment 👍🏻 It is helpful to have a read of it before your next health check. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #smallfriendsvet #smallfriends #canberrapets #canberracats #canberradogs #dogsofcanberra #catsofcanberra #dogsofinstagram #catsofinstagram #gungahlin #rspca_act #canberra #wearecbr #kitten #puppy #poodlesofcanberra ...

Rebecca Bishop

“We have been bringing our fur family to Matt, Mel and the wonderful team at Small Friends Vet for a number of years and have had nothing but fantastic support. They have helped us through tough times, given us great advice that we trust and are always wonderful with our two dogs and our two cats. They have never laughed in our faces when we bring our pets in unnecessarily and they are wonderful when the pets are in for longer stays. We are extremely grateful that they are part of our extended family and help us take care of our fur babies. Thank you Matt, Mel, Sally, Tara, Valerie, Josie and Danielle.
If you are looking for a vet in Canberra, you don’t have to look any further.”

The Duff Family

“There are so many positives about this amazing small practice. You are not just a number. They go above and beyond to take care of your family pets. They do not overcharge or do unnecessary testing or treatment. They explain things so that we understand them and they always double check to see if we have any other concerns. The doctors, nurses and staff are always friendly and accommodating. You never feel rushed and they take their time with you. I especially love the follow up phone calls after any procedure or if your family pet has been unwell, to see how they are going and if we have any further questions.”
The Duff Family

Mark and Ros McLennan

“The team at Small Friends Vet have been with us every step of the way with our dog Saki. They are ethical and skilled vets but, more importantly, are generous in sharing their knowledge about how best to care for our newest family member. They have been with us through all his ups and downs!
Saki always looks forward to his visits and the love and attention he gets makes a trip to the vet much more enjoyable.
Small Friends isn’t just a vet, they are actually a part of our family!”
 Jess and Mark

Ellie, Lexi, (late Tess), Chris & Bob

“After almost 15 years we still love visiting Small Friends Vet. All staff over this time are consistently caring, friendly, helpful & supportive of our small friends and Bob and I.
We will always support them as they are passionate about working together like family and never just about doing the job and taking our money.
The best vets we have ever used.”
Ellie, Lexi, (late Tess), Chris & Bob

Anna, Al and Max

“My partner, Al and I have an almost 3yr old male Australian Bulldog named Max. We have been going to see Small Friends Vet in Amaroo since moving to the area. Max usually sees Dr Matt during a visit. Dr Matt and his staff are always very welcoming and friendly which definitely helps Max feel more comfortable as he has a little anxiety. The reception staff are always keen for a pat with Max and there are never any issues with receipts and clinical notes emailed to us promptly to us for our pet insurance. Dr Matt always puts Max at ease during a visit with his friendly and easy going attitude and conveys his findings to us in very easy to understand “non-vet” language.
We could not recommend Small Friends Vet enough. The staff and service provided are second to none and definitely the best we have found in our years of fur baby parenthood.”
