Old friends new friends 🐶⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of the pleasures of our job (and yes, there are many) is to get to know families and their small friends 🧡 We are truly honoured to be there through the beginnings, ends, up and downs of your journey with your small friend 🐱🐶🐰🐭After losing a small friend it can be hard to know when the right time will be, if ever, to bring another into your life 🤔but by the time they are due for the first booster vaccination most people say they can't imagine life without their new baby 😁⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We have been f r i e n d s with the Gibbs family for 14 years and we were so excited to meet their new puppy Remi 👏🏻 Here she is when she came in for her vaccinations! Remi has a lot to live up to as we were very good friends with her brother Flynn 💙 Since this photo was taken she has been back to visit us for her desexing and well...she is firmly in our hearts - just like her brother 💕You don't ever forget your friends and please know, neither do we. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #smallfriendsvet #smallfriends #canberrapets #canberracats #canberradogs #dogsofcanberra #catsofcanberra #dogsofinstagram #catsofinstagram #gungahlin #rspca_act #canberra #wearecbr #kitten #puppy ...

If they had to fly into a window, they chose the right one 😅 🐦👏🏻⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This little bird 🐦was being chased by a magpie, and flew straight into our office window 🙈Nurse Josie, immediately went outside and picked him up, as he was unable to stand up or walk straight 😵⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We gave him a check over. He was a bit stunned from the hard hit to the head, so we kept him in a dark box for a little while to let him rest and recover safely 😴 After a couple of hours he was trying to fly in his box so we took him outside to see if he was ready to fly away, and he did! 😄⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It was our pleasure, little guy 😍 ...

This little sweetie is Lucy, a 6 month old Maltese X Toy Poodle 🐶 who was in for her spey today. She was extremely smoochy and loved being carried around all day by the nurses! Beth decided to put a little bow in her fur because a little “fancy” never hurts 👒 Is your new small friend due for desexing? Feeling nervous? Check out our website 💻(link in bio) for information pages on desexing and anaesthesia, they may help to alleviate the jitters 😌 #smallfriendsvet #smallfriends #canberrapets #canberracats #canberradogs #dogsofcanberra #catsofcanberra #dogsofinstagram #catsofinstagram #gungahlin #rspca_act #canberra #wearecbr #kitten #puppy #covid19canberra ...

Christmas-Chu 🎄⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pika and Rai came to visit all ready for Christmas!! 😍Pika is a 4 year old Cavoodle and Rai, a 4 year old German Spitz. Pika was wearing a little Santa hat 🎅🏻with reindeer ears 🦌 and Rai had the Christmas spirit (he doesn’t like hats, but didn’t want to be left out!) ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To add to their cuteness, their mum's name is Natasha Choo, so Pika and Rai’s full names are Pika Choo and Rai Choo (The Pokémon’s “Pikachu” and “Raichu”) 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #smallfriendsvet #smallfriends #canberrapets #canberracats #canberradogs #dogsofcanberra #catsofcanberra #dogsofinstagram #catsofinstagram #gungahlin #rspca_act #canberra #wearecbr #kitten #puppy ...

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Rebecca Bishop

“We have been bringing our fur family to Matt, Mel and the wonderful team at Small Friends Vet for a number of years and have had nothing but fantastic support. They have helped us through tough times, given us great advice that we trust and are always wonderful with our two dogs and our two cats. They have never laughed in our faces when we bring our pets in unnecessarily and they are wonderful when the pets are in for longer stays. We are extremely grateful that they are part of our extended family and help us take care of our fur babies. Thank you Matt, Mel, Sally, Tara, Valerie, Josie and Danielle.
If you are looking for a vet in Canberra, you don’t have to look any further.”
Rebecca Bishop

The Duff Family

“There are so many positives about this amazing small practice. You are not just a number. They go above and beyond to take care of your family pets. They do not overcharge or do unnecessary testing or treatment. They explain things so that we understand them and they always double check to see if we have any other concerns. The doctors, nurses and staff are always friendly and accommodating. You never feel rushed and they take their time with you. I especially love the follow up phone calls after any procedure or if your family pet has been unwell, to see how they are going and if we have any further questions.”
The Duff Family

Mark and Ros McLennan

“The team at Small Friends Vet have been with us every step of the way with our dog Saki. They are ethical and skilled vets but, more importantly, are generous in sharing their knowledge about how best to care for our newest family member. They have been with us through all his ups and downs!
Saki always looks forward to his visits and the love and attention he gets makes a trip to the vet much more enjoyable.
Small Friends isn’t just a vet, they are actually a part of our family!”
 Jess and Mark

Ellie, Lexi, (late Tess), Chris & Bob

“After almost 15 years we still love visiting Small Friends Vet. All staff over this time are consistently caring, friendly, helpful & supportive of our small friends and Bob and I.
We will always support them as they are passionate about working together like family and never just about doing the job and taking our money.
The best vets we have ever used.”
Ellie, Lexi, (late Tess), Chris & Bob

Anna, Al and Max

“My partner, Al and I have an almost 3yr old male Australian Bulldog named Max. We have been going to see Small Friends Vet in Amaroo since moving to the area. Max usually sees Dr Matt during a visit. Dr Matt and his staff are always very welcoming and friendly which definitely helps Max feel more comfortable as he has a little anxiety. The reception staff are always keen for a pat with Max and there are never any issues with receipts and clinical notes emailed to us promptly to us for our pet insurance. Dr Matt always puts Max at ease during a visit with his friendly and easy going attitude and conveys his findings to us in very easy to understand “non-vet” language.
We could not recommend Small Friends Vet enough. The staff and service provided are second to none and definitely the best we have found in our years of fur baby parenthood.”
